Recipe
The LLM crêpe recipe
Thin, fluffy crêpes made with sparkling water. Simple, quick and good with any filling.
- Yield
- 12 crêpes, 26 cm
- Rest
- 15–30 min
- Cook
- 1–2 min per side
This recipe comes from ChatGPT 3.5, back when LLMs confidently invented quotes, papers and API functions that never existed.
The crêpes, on the other hand, work. It's probably the only output from that era that passes its tests without a single patch, so I haven't changed a thing. It's legacy code that works, and you don't refactor legacy code that works.
Preparation
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the salt and sugar (if using).
- Gradually add the flour and milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
- Pour in the oil and sparkling water, then mix well until you have a smooth, runny batter.
- Let the batter rest for 15–30 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick pan and grease it lightly with oil or butter.
- Pour in a ladle of batter and swirl the pan to spread it evenly.
- Cook each crêpe for about 1–2 minutes per side, until golden.
- Repeat with the rest of the batter.
Filling: jam, Nutella, sweet cheese or anything you like.
